Heidi Klum joined Lorraine Schwartz for her celebratory event in Hong Kong before the Art Basel opening on Sunday (March 24) in China.

The model may have been in China, but her red carpet look took on a very tropical flair in Johanna Ortiz’s Contigo En La Distancia fringed embroidered silk maxi dress from the Resort 2019 collection.

I love how the metallic fringing swishes from the asymmetric hem, coordinating with the intricate florals sprinkled across the body.

Matching her accessories to the golden threads was the right course of action.

I was pleasantly surprised by the outfit, but the hair was all wrong.

In 2019 I was determined to see only the good in Heidi’s red carpet looks, and this was so, so close.

I even loved the OTTness of the chandelier earrings, but the hair killed the look for me. A fringe dress was not the right moment to debut a fringed hairstyle.

Ha. I see just the opposite. The dress is too hippie/festival for me but the hair is youthful and charming. Agree that it’s nice to see her get away from the usual try hard look she’s drawn to.

I agree with the hairstyle. It does not match the vibe of the dress. It looks really silly and sloppy.
As for the dress, not my fave. Too housecoat-like and overall, the look seems rather messy.

Feels a bit like an old hippie’s around-the- house dress but it’s more grown up and less try hard than her usual looks. Plus, I like that her tan is less harsh and the hair colour is not a dated blonde shade anymore.
