January 12, 2018 Runway To Red Carpet

Jaimie Alexander In Georges Chakra Couture – 2018 Critics’ Choice Awards

Posted by Heather Cichowski

Jaimie Alexander isn’t afraid to make a bold statement on the red carpet. She turned heads again at the 2018 Critics’ Choice Awards on Thursday (January 11) in Santa Monica, California.

The ‘Blindspot’ actress was clad in a Georges Chakra Fall 2017 Couture dress.

You might be doing a double take as she styled the gown almost identically to the runway version, selecting ankle-strap Chloe Gosselin platform shoes, Sylva & Cie jewelry and a voluminous updo.

I’m not going to hold it against her because the accessories work. The feather-decorated high-low hem needed a weighty shoe to balance it out.

It’s a lot of look, but she succeeded in carrying it off. It appears almost effortless.

The texture on this is cool and she is serving great face & confidence.

I wish it was full length. I am also someone not liking mullet dresses overly much….
Adore the color though! Love those earrings with it. Like the idea of this dress….

I like the bodice with the wavy detail and I like the idea of feathers but the skirt feels too much, cluttered and unbalanced.

I’m in love with the detailing on the bodice and the feather trim. I just wish it was a mini because the train really feels heavy and detracts from the fresh and youthful vibe I’m getting in the top half.

This just sort of falls flat for me and I can’t figure out why because there is a lot going on here.

The skirt falls flat. It’s not her fault. The look is way too complicated and not very well resolved.
