October 5, 2017 Premiere, Runway To Red Carpet

Carey Mulligan In Gucci – ‘Mudbound’ London Film Festival Premiere

For the second night in a row we’re treated to yet another Gucci gown during the London Film Festival.

Carey Mulligan joined Mary J. Blige for the premiere of ‘Mudbound’, wearing a sheer look from Gucci’s Resort 2018 collection.

I’m so intrigued by this look as it breaks the mould of what I perceived a Carey Mulligan look to be: safe.

I love how this Grecian goddess dress is given a new lease of life off the runway with a mint-green lining to really throw the cat amongst the pigeons.

Black may have killed the eclectic vibe or made the look feel too formulaic.

Francesco Russo metal ‘Karung’ pink gold sandals completed her look.

I’m totally buying what she’s selling. Are you?

Very interesting look and I love the green lining. I also like how un-gimicky it is, as I always picture present Gucci as very cartoonish, but this is not the case.

Would have LOVED this without that silver thing hanging down the front of the dress…typical Gucci…so close, but then just one design element too much.

That silver thing is so random. But otherwise the gown is beautiful and this is the best Carey has looked in a long while so I can’t complain too much.

I usually find her so very bland but I like this look.

She is getting out of her comfort zone so that is good. But I don’t like her hair. The blonde doesn’t suit her imo.

    Carrrrrey! AMAZING.

Remember when her stylist was Rooney Mara’s Ryan Hastings and it was merely clinical Classic Chic? Sorry for always being critical of his work, but his aesthetic and consequent work doesn’t compare to the innovation of Karla and Petra’s celeb-look matches. It just doesn’t.

Petra Flannery thank you for bringing back Carey’s mojo.

And thank god for the mint lining and that the shoes are gold.

    LOVE this so much.

Looks like she took a costume from Game of Thrones.

I have to agree with you on this one! Even the fabric looks costume-like. The only thing I like here is the mint-coloured lining.
