Trophée Chopard Ceremony
A range of stars indulged in a range of sparkling looks at the Trophée Chopard Ceremony on Monday (May 22) as part of the 2017 Cannes Film Festival.
Marion Cotillard: None shone more brightly than Marion who took my breath away in a Halpern Fall 2017 masterwork styled with a diamond collar necklace. I could gush on and on about the fantasy of the design’s radiant, colour-swirled paillettes, the unexpected mod edge of the pants, and the impossibly long, shimmering train. But, we should just let the look do the talking.
Charlize Theron: Beaded fringe and a dropped-waist silhouette imbued this Prada gown with a vintage, flapper mood. A wide headband and Prada clutch accessorised the look. The necklace and earrings together could be called overkill on another occasion, but this was a Chopard event, after all.
Salma Hayek: Back to her black locks after a flirtation with pink, Salma wore a menswear-inspired Saint Laurent Fall 2017 ensemble that got its seductive edge from the lace corset underpinning—even if it did appear a few notches too tight for comfort.
Anya Taylor-Joy: While this Miu Miu gown was a marked improvement from her previous outing, her heavy-handed makeup made for a bit of a garish effect.
Izabel Goulart: Tuxedo-inspired tailoring at its finest, the look saw Izabel as the definition of sleek and chic here.
Stacy Martin: Perhaps a bit more casual than her counterparts, Stacy did still maintain a delightful charm in this short, beaded frock paired with matching blue gemstone earrings and contrasting fuchsia sandals.
Juliette Binoche: After seeing Juliette in her luscious red look, I couldn’t help but be a bit let down by this midnight-blue, velvet Alexandre Vauthier gown that translated into a bit of a sombre, heavy tone. The diamond and sapphire chandelier earrings were quite beautifully transfixing, though.
