May 22, 2017 Runway To Red Carpet

Trophée Chopard Ceremony

A range of stars indulged in a range of sparkling looks at the Trophée Chopard Ceremony on Monday (May 22) as part of the 2017 Cannes Film Festival.

Marion Cotillard: None shone more brightly than Marion who took my breath away in a Halpern Fall 2017 masterwork styled with a diamond collar necklace. I could gush on and on about the fantasy of the design’s radiant, colour-swirled paillettes, the unexpected mod edge of the pants, and the impossibly long, shimmering train. But, we should just let the look do the talking.

Charlize Theron: Beaded fringe and a dropped-waist silhouette imbued this Prada gown with a vintage, flapper mood. A wide headband and Prada clutch accessorised the look. The necklace and earrings together could be called overkill on another occasion, but this was a Chopard event, after all.

Salma Hayek: Back to her black locks after a flirtation with pink, Salma wore a menswear-inspired Saint Laurent Fall 2017 ensemble that got its seductive edge from the lace corset underpinning—even if it did appear a few notches too tight for comfort.

Anya Taylor-Joy: While this Miu Miu gown was a marked improvement from her previous outing, her heavy-handed makeup made for a bit of a garish effect.

Izabel Goulart: Tuxedo-inspired tailoring at its finest, the look saw Izabel as the definition of sleek and chic here.

Stacy Martin: Perhaps a bit more casual than her counterparts, Stacy did still maintain a delightful charm in this short, beaded frock paired with matching blue gemstone earrings and contrasting fuchsia sandals.

Juliette Binoche: After seeing Juliette in her luscious red look, I couldn’t help but be a bit let down by this midnight-blue, velvet Alexandre Vauthier gown that translated into a bit of a sombre, heavy tone. The diamond and sapphire chandelier earrings were quite beautifully transfixing, though.

Marion looks truly dazzling, but I wish this was a column dress.

As for Salma I am not sure if I am more aghast by her make-up or her display. Izabel looks so much better and classier.

    so many good looks
Marion’s jumpsuit is hard to pull off but I love it on the model.
    Izabel: sleek perfection
Ana : great dress, makeup overkill

    my only disappointment is Salma.

What a fantastic event. I honestly can’t find any flaws on people showed here. Charlize’s dress is probably the most beautiful MIuMiu I’ve ever seen.
Marion looking spectacular. Love Juliette’s look as well.
Oh god , I would’ve paid to be there.

YES YES YES!!!! I’ve been waiting for a look like this from Marion. She looks STUNNING. This is her style, not those boring Dior designs. Love this GLAM look.

This probably is Marion’s best look in ages. Flawless.

Izabel looks perfectly sleek to. Love it!

Salma looks awful as usual. I don’t understand. Izabel looks great and YAY Marion is free of fug Dior. I don’t like Charlize’s dress at all. She’s so beautiful.

Wow this is such a well-dressed event, everyone looked good in my opinion.
The only thing I would nit pick is Selma’s shoes…

Izabel is the only one. She looks so damn chic. Gorgeous.
I personally think Marions outfit is ugly. It cant decide what it wants to be. Looks clownish.

Marion is free at last! And she’s already killing it! Can’t wait for her future red carpet appearances, you know, since they won’t be in Dior…..

Why why why can’t Salma wear something flattering or crying out loud???
Juliette’s hair isn’t helping her look
I think this is the first time I’ve ever really liked a Marion look
