Solange Knowles In Alice + Olivia – 2013 Coachella Music Festival

Solange Knowles In Alice + Olivia - 2013 Coachella Music Festival

The general consensus was that Solange Knowles’ first look during the 2013 Coachella Music Festival wasn’t quite in tune with the spirit of the event.

With the festivities taking place over three days, the singer had a chance to redeem herself and so she did, wearing a cute Alice + Olivia ‘Candice’ A-line dress.

Her flattering A-line cut dress in a fresh, citrusy lemon print features an open back for a flirty finish.

Opting for floral-print Kate Spade New York sandals may be overkill for some, but I think they blend well with her effortless look.

Did Solange hit the right note on this occasion?

Too short. Other than that, love! The lemons are so cute, it’s perfect for the event. I’d just lengthen it a bit.

Some may criticize this for not being event appropriate…but I’d take this over the Coachella “uniform” of too-short denim cutoffs and crop tops any day!

I love her hair at this lenght, it looks really cute.

It’s a cute, fun look but quite short.

It’s pretty but I don’t think it’s event appropriate…. unless you stay in vip tents all day. I’ve been to Indio Polo location for other shows and it’s a lot of walking and dancing and sitting and trapsing around. This is way too formal

I applaud Solange for having her own distinctive, unique, urban-fierce sense of style. Bravo, honey!

First time I loved her outfit. She looks fresh, gorgeous, young and comfortable. I love it.

It’s a cute dress but uber-short. Could you really dance it up at a festival and not worry about you rear end hanging out? Don’t love the platform shoes either. Flat sandals would be more appropriate. Overall, I still get the impression she popped out onto the grass for a photo-op and then retired to the comfort of a VIP tent!

I agree with the shoes and I also think the bag doesn’t fit. I love the dress but this seems a bit staged, just for the photo, like she thought too much about it.

I agree on the bag, shoes and the dress being too short.

Agree on all points. She was there for the photos. I can’t imagine her lying in the grass enjoying the music in THAT outfit!! More like sitting in a confy armchair with a glass of champagne…

This is better than her previous look and I just love it. The dress is really pretty.

Love, love, love this! It is 100% Solange but laid-back enough for the event.
I think the shoes are pitch perfect.

What I love best about this, and what makes it have that easy, venue-appropriate feel is her hair and (almost absent) make-up. Gorgeous.

I think this is definitely BDOTW-worthy.

    She looks uber cute.

I didn’t mind her previous look either tbh. It felt true to her style, unlike others.

She got it right this time, absolutely adorable (!!), loving the cute vibrant dress and that she played it up with the flirty sandal. Youthful, flirty, event-appropriate, and unlike most of the others at the event so perfectly polished yet effortless, without a hint of try-hard.

Wow, there she is back! Love the dress and her styling again! And love to see her comfortable in what she is best!
