Janelle Monae In Christian Siriano – ‘Black Panther’ World Premiere

Janelle Monae joined Danai Gurira, Yara Shahidi, Issa Rae and Tessa Thompson for Marvel Studios’ world premiere of ‘Black Panther’ on Monday (January 29) in Hollywood, California.

I will call this “death by accessories”.

Janelle had a good thing going with this sculptural sleeved top and ball skirt from Christian Siriano’s Pre-Fall 2018 collection, but then she over cooked it with the crown, the tribal necklace and the Heliópolis clutch.

It’s almost comical in its “everything but the kitchen sink” approach.

Had she just added the necklace, I may have been able to get on board with this look.

She was trying WAY too hard.

Tessa Thompson In Elie Saab – ‘Black Panther’ World Premiere

‘Thor: Ragnarok’ star Tessa Thompson showed her support for Marvel Studios’ world premiere of ‘Black Panther’ on Monday (January 29) in Hollywood, California.

We’re so used to Elie Saab’s glamorous dresses, but on this occasion he conjures up another fantasy with this tunic paired with beaded cigarette trousers from the Pre-Fall 2018 collection.

I love the contrast between the delicate tunic with the ultra modern dazzling trousers. I immediately felt that the look feels so refreshing from Elie Saab while not stepping too far away from the norm.

Christian Louboutin ‘Nosy’ pointy toe pumps, a Roger Vivier velvet ‘Cigarette’ bag and jewels from Sara Weinstock and Graziela Gems completed her look

Yara Shahidi In Etro – ‘Black Panther’ World Premiere

Yara Shahidi showed her support for the ‘Black Panther’ film at the world premiere on Monday (January 29) in Hollywood, California.

The actress looked like an Ethiopian queen in her Etro dress with the multicoloured tribal-inspired embroidery and tassel-trims lending a well-travelled vibe.

Teasing her ‘fro to the heavens only help authenticate her East African look further; with Christian Louboutin ‘Loubi Queen’ gold sandals and Jennifer Fisher jewels rounding out her regal look.

Issa Rae In Rosie Assoulin – ‘Black Panther’ World Premiere

As always, Issa Rae looked like she was having a ball on the red carpet while attending the world premiere of Marvel Studios’ ‘Black Panther’ on Monday (January 29) in Hollywood, California.

The actress tried to recreate the models efforts to showcase the most prominent detail of her Rosie Assoulin Resort 2018 dress, which instantly took me back to 2010 when Blake Lively tried to recreate the billowing runway effect in her Lanvin look.

The colours of the panel are inspired by the bold bouquets sold at New York bodegas and are a striking contrast to the minimal tone dress.

I love that Issa kept the other details of her look to a bronze hue as not to upstage the dress.

Danai Gurira In Viktor & Rolf Soir – ‘Black Panther’ World Premiere

Danai Gurira attended the world premiere of Marvel Studios’ ‘Black Panther’ on Monday (January 29) in Hollywood, California.

Viktor & Rolf are known for dramatic and feminine silhouettes and this side ruffle gown is a sublime example of the designers aesthetic which is architecturally sound.

The actress is no stranger to bold colours. I love how the pink is girlie and romantic, while the black brings about a more seriousness to the look.

With her short hairstyle we don’t often see Danai play round much with it, but on this occasion she added an embellished headband for a truly feminine flourish.

Emmy Rossum In David Koma – ‘A Futile And Stupid Gesture’ Sundance Film Festival Premiere

After making multiple fashion statements, Emmy Rossum stepped out again at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival to attend the ‘A Futile And Stupid Gesture’ premiere on Wednesday (January 24) in Park City, Utah.

It’s not uncommon to see celebrities adding sleeves to their film festival outfits, but the actress actually simplified her David Koma Fall 2017 dress, by removing the detail.

I was enamored with the punk qualities the runway look presented, but I think this modified version is more in keeping with her classically feminine style.

This mixture of black fabrics in the halter piece was enlivened with Wolford tights, a Roger Vivier Pilgrim clutch and Jimmy Choo ‘Handover’ boots.

Kaya Scodelario In Preen – ‘Maze Runner: The Death Cure’ (Le Labyrinthe : Le Remede Mortel) Paris Premiere

Following the London premiere, Kaya Scodelario stepped out in Paris to promote her latest film, ‘Maze Runner: The Death Cure’ at Le Grand Rex this evening (January 24).

The actress wore a Preen Spring 2018 dress with, you’ll be happy to see, complimentary gold sandals.

I love how this dress embodies the designer’s penchant for modernising florals, as the traditional blossom-strewn pattern is married with asymmetrical cuts and ruched detailing.

I’m enjoying the feminine mood this look presents, as the edgier slant didn’t sit too well last time out.
