Demi Moore Wore Jacquemus To The 2026 Cannes Film Festival Opening Ceremony
Seeing Demi Moore on the red carpet for the opening ceremony of the 2026 Cannes Film Festival, which premiered the opening film La Vénus Electrique (The Electric Venus), I felt relieved.

This opening ceremony red carpet had been surprisingly flat up to this point, but Demi arrived ready to deliver the glamour exactly as expected in another custom Jacquemus look.
We would not typically associate Simon Porte Jacquemus with this kind of grand Cannes red carpet moment, but transforming his Fall 2026 strapless sequinned dress into a floor-length gown was absolutely the right decision. The original runway version already had a striking silhouette, but extending it into a gown gave the design the elegance and presence needed for this setting.
The resculpted peplum created such a beautiful hourglass shape, while the dense silver sequins give the gown a liquid-like finish under the Cannes lights. The soft silver tone also worked beautifully against Demi’s dark hair, giving the entire look that classic movie-star glamour we live for at Cannes.

The styling elevated the moment even further. Her Chopard Haute Joaillerie diamond necklace and matching earrings framed the strapless neckline perfectly.
Demi dazzled us during her Cannes run back in 2024, but this time it feels as though she arrived determined to raise the bar even higher. And based on this opening looks alone, she already likely to be one of the festival’s standout stars.
Stylist: Brad Goreski.
