After her oh-so-cool Chanel jumpsuit, worn earlier today, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley went in a totally different style direction at the 2013 Vanity Fair Oscars Party, hosted on Sunday evening at the Sunset Tower in Hollywood.
Like fellow model Miranda Kerr, she wore a Valentino Fall 2012 Couture dress, except hers was a dusty pink shade.
And, once again, I’m shocked to say that I’m left underwhelmed.
The off-the-shoulder detail and the layers and layers of ruffles delivered a strange sort of Moulin Rouge moment, especially with the cabaret choker. The dress would have seen worlds of improvement if that little neckpiece had been left on the runway.
Even her gorgeous glossy waves and pretty fuchsia-pink lippie seemed at odds with this gown.

She looks gorgeous IMO, everything works so well.
But what is all this Valentino love tonight?
Valentino really knocked it out of the park this Oscars with all the Valentino pieces being worn left, right and centre.
I know right?
She looks ok here she can do way better.
Like you, it isn’t wowing me. I really hate the choker…
But I do like the color
i’ve not seen so much valentino at one single event! but i don’t like this. “underwhelmed” is the word. sad because she is gorgeous. even miranda failed in my books. these girls r young vivacious and incredibly sexy so what’s with all the weirdness???
I don’t know about any of you but I haven’t been blown away so far. The Oscars this year were really disappointing in my opinion! The only ones who were knock out for me were Octavia Spencer, Naomi Watts, Jennifer Hudson and that’s about it! Most of them were really forgettable. Mention to Halle Berry who really stepped up and improved herself, now if she could outgrow her har and go back to her old spectacular self, I’d be more than happy
I agree. This has been one of the blandest red carpet Oscars I can remember. It’s getting more conventional each year. Too many stylists and too many big money contracts = no risks and no personal expression.
ITA. I don’t think there many standouts (Naomi Watts, Stacy Keibler) at all and those standouts weren’t that great if you compare with recent years. Much of the awards season it has been very bland and boring outfits.
Agree to both of your comments! Boring!
lol yeah, the hair, makeup and choker belong to an entirely different outfit.
The whole look is just awful in my opinion. There is nothing about this look that I like at all. One of my worst dressed on the night.
love this! but then again i am big fan of chokers.. it could have look very saloon in a western, but i think she pulls it off
I just realised this isn’t really a choker, it’s a ribbon that ties the dress up at the back and hangs down…

However it looks like a choker, which isn’t good.
+1
appreciate ur keen observation!
Beautiful from the neck up. There is nothing about this dress I like.
I dont like this dress,so boring for me and worst Valentino of the night.By the way why everyone went for Valentino?? I wish to see more Elie Saab couture on Red carpet last night…BTW Miranda’s choice is great
I agree.
I love the dress, not the choker part. It’s throwing the whole thing off. Disappointed.
ive been waiting for this dress to be worn and I am soo happy a model did it cause a basic actress would have ruined it. I love love love this. I can even overlook the piece of string on her neck. I completely disagree on the lipstick it worked perfectly.
Yep, was my favourite valentino of the night.
If that horrible choker were removed, this dress would improve exponentially.
I don’t like that thing around her neck.
I strongly dislike ruffles, so it’s a no for me.
But my God her hair is made of perfection! Love the lippie too.
Snoozefest. I hope she step up her game to the Met Gala.
