Alden Ehrenreich tested out an up-and-coming colour trend at the LA premiere of ‘Beautiful Creatures’, held at the TCL Chinese Theatre on Wednesday evening in Hollywood.
The handsome actor showed up in an Albert Hammond Jr. burgundy suit, which was uniquely decked out.
Not only did his notch lapel jacket feature a ticket pocket and higher-than-usual buttons, but it also had a military-inspired strap across the back just above the centre vent. He accented his suit with a brown skinny tie, matching oxford shoes, and a white shirt.
The burgundy colour of this suit looked good, but I thought the extra pieces on the suit took away from it.
Ticket pockets are splendid additions, but the oversized flaps over the three pockets are a bit distracting. The military-style strap across the back is bothersome, as well. It gives the illusion of his waist looking wider than it actually is.
Risks are great when experimenting with suits, but some work better than others. This one didn’t turn out perfectly, but he still looks sharp thanks to good tailoring and a beautiful colour.
This suit was actually worn by Ryan Gosling in ‘Crazy, Stupid, Love.’ But lets face it, Ryan wore it better because, well, he wears everything better than everyone.

love this look, his smile is selling it for me most of all.
Oh yes, no one can beat Ryan. But Alden does look good.
Great color, looking a bit rumpled on him. And why even compete with Ryan ;)?
He’s too damn hot. Slight styling issues aside, Alden makes it work just cos. Kid could step out in a diaper and a sports bra and still get my vote.
He looks really really great!
Lose the extra pockets and flaps and this would be an all round great look. Props for the colour, giving his own twist with brown shoes and tie rather than the lookbook black. The fit of trousers are really good too.
Love the suit colour!
Hahaha FC! “lets face it, Ryan wore it better because, well, he wears everything better than everyone.”
Love it.
I Love that one too! Ryan needs to get onto the red carpet ASAP!!
Yep, Ryan Gosling definitely wore it best. But Nice try, fellow. 😉
Whenever I see a man not accessorizing an awesome suit properly, I always think they should have first thought: WWED? (What Would Eddie Do?).
Also, never compete with Ryan Gosling.
He does get props for trying something new though!
