Sarah Hyland In Marchesa – 2012 Emmy Awards

For the second year in a row, Sarah Hyland showed off her designing prowess.

The ‘Modern Family’ star teamed up with Georgina Chapman of Marchesa to design her dove-grey gown which she wore to the 2012 Emmy Awards on Sunday evening.

In true Marchesa spirit, the gown was beautifully embellished with silver and crystal detailing.

Unfortunately, I’m not too fond of the prom hair.

Lorraine Schwartz jewels completed her look.

I fell in love at first sight when I saw this dress. Really elegant yet romantic and fairytale like. If you also think about it, it looks kind of like Harry Potter’s Hermione Granger dress but this dress is a bit more sweeter in a sense. I’m not in love with the jewelry in my opinion. I just feel like she could have gotten something different. However, the ring is amazing. Also, if she had done something different for her nails that would have been cool too. Overall, I still loved her outfit as much as I was nit-picking everything I did not like.
Truly, this outfit inspired me to find a dress similar to this for my prom coming soon. Because she was able to shine in this dress, maybe this is why I wish to have a dress like her’s because she looks beautiful and I hope I can feel like that the day of prom

Oops, I missed this one! LOVED it–love, love the dress. Might even be my favorite of the night, certainly in the top five! Totally Jane Austen-like, as Grace said. A beautiful look. ADORE!

gorgeous gown! very age appropriate too!

Dress is so beautiful, I will give her a pass on the hair. Like Grace said above, if you think Jane Austen, it kind of works.

I thought after her zimmerman look she would switch to a fresher style :S Alas!

I really liked this look. I didn’t like the dove grey on Emily Van Camp, but I love it here. The hair doesn’t bother me, since it goes with the soft/romantic gown.

I really like this look too, the dove grey works so much better on her than Emily, and I actually like how she played up the romantic feel of the gown with that hairstyle that also suits her youth.

      • Nat39 September 24, 2012 at 17:50 #

Oops, she’s a bit older than I thought. This hairstyle is a bit too young and princessy for her.

I actually think it’s a gorgeous look! The gown is perfect and I absolutely love the hair!

I agree. I think she’s looking wonderful. I have yet to see her looking trashy or sleazy like so many others her age. Pretty is good!

A youthful Titania from a midsummer’s night dream. Love, h2t.

    Nice dress, bad hairstyle.

She really looks like she’s going to prom..

    • Christine September 24, 2012 at 14:17 #

      Exactly. Too prom-ish for me.

  12. Yeliz September 24, 2012 at 10:40 #

I totally agree with you FC, the gown is beautiful, the hair not.

  13. Jess2 September 24, 2012 at 09:54 #

She looks really beautiful, no denying but I agree about the prom hair and this really is something we have seen before. Love her ring!!!

    • tiffany September 24, 2012 at 22:12 #

+1 the ring is THE business

  14. Noemi September 24, 2012 at 09:49 #

The dress is beautiful but it’s the only thing I like with the nail polish. The hair style and the purse look cheap.

  15. chyc September 24, 2012 at 09:25 #

Would prefer if her nails weren’t matchy-matchy grey with the dress… A contrasting pop of colour would be nice.

Is it just me or is her makeups too heavy?

    • lu September 24, 2012 at 16:17 #

yes, for me it is too heavy. I also agree on the prom hair. But the dress is pretty.

  17. Grace September 24, 2012 at 08:53 #

Love this from head to toe- reminds me of a Jane Austen heroine! I think she handles such big events with much elegance for her age, which is great

  18. AG September 24, 2012 at 08:52 #

I feel like it’s all a bit too pretty. An edgier hair style may have toned down the overpowering girly/princess vibe..

  19. Amy September 24, 2012 at 08:50 #

she looks nice, nothing groundbreaking but still nice. And I have no problem with the hair
