Sarah Jessica Parker wore the colour of the evening, pink, at the 2012 Met Gala in New York City on Monday night.
It’s rumoured that Anna Wintour requested that all Vogue editors wear pink to the event, and SJP clearly did not miss that memo.
Carrie Bradshaw did contribute to the magazine, after all.
The actress chose Valentino for the event, wearing a long-sleeved silk taffeta floral print gown from the Spring 2012 couture collection.
The gown, which has a vintage feel, was paired with Fred Leighton Victorian gold, pearl, and enamel cuff bracelets, worn over the sleeves.
Voluminous waves and large earrings complete the look.

Reminds me of Bridal Pajamas. Not really my cup of tea. I also hate the make up and hair.
Vintage as in little house on the prairie. I don’t know how I feel about this one. I’m going to have to let this one sit for a while.
This is terrible. It looks like they made it out of curtains from a house from the 50s. It looks like the dress of a Mennonite prom queen.
+1
snoozeville
Agree. Too matronly.
SJP, granny called: she wants her curtains back.
I dont usually like SJP, quite the opposite, actually. But she rocked one my absolute favs Valentino. She def is on my top 5 of the night.
I merely like the gown on SJP as it looks a bit frumpy on her, especially with her pointy floral pumps.
This looks like my Grandma’s curtains, no thank you.
This is a case of “vintage” done right, though it’s not exactly vintage. SJP looked absolutely adorable. I’m really loving cuff bracelets now. She’s just one of those rare women who can pull off a younger look without seeming try-hard.
She looks far too aged,& this granny print doesn’t do much to convince us otherwise. The desired effect of trying to be a trendsetter has failed dismally, resulting in a look that will be remembered for all the wrong reasons.
Bye Bye Carrie Bradshaw. Hello frumpy grandma !
All I could see was my grandmother’s curtains. Total frumpville.
please someone tell her to put her hair up!!! that long curly hair on such an already matronly dress isn’t doing her any favors!!!
if she starts wearing her hair up, she’ll look so much better.
younger, more refined looking

I’ve never understand why she’s considered a great fashion icon. She’s not Carrie, that was just a character she used to play. Of course she had learnt a lot during all those years but this is just another messy and ugly look form her. The dress is not for her and the two golden cuffs are terrible, it seems she wanted to rock a bit the dress. The make up is ugly, too, and wrong for the dress. Terrible.
hideous!
Yes! and i think the cuffs complete this look beautifully – a simple bun would’ve been better however
I know it’s mean, and I ususally like to find at least one thing that I like so I don’t feel too nasty, but… I hate it. The fabric, the floral pattern, the cut, the make-up… I just don’t like it at all.
Perfection!!!! And that smile totally made my day!!
She looks really good! Missed those looks from her..
BDOTW list please!!!!!!:)
I hate it. Looks like curtains. SJP what are you doing?
Disaster.
Not good. That’s a shame because last year she was my best dressed in Alexander McQueen.
Congrats, SJP – you’ve successfully turned grandma’s comforter into a dress. All jokes aside, I adore Valentino but this is a miss.
It’s like a cross between mumsy and little house on the prairie. Not a good choice.
The dress look awful, but even scarier than that is that she appears to match, literally, LITERALLY match her dress. All new levels of dated awfulness.
Beautiful! SJP is great, as allways.
The only thing wrong with this is the print. If it was a solid colour. From head to toe like mustard or rose or blue then it wouldn’t be so granny-like.
On the positive side? I love her hair and make up. Even though she does that a lot, it still looks amazing.
I don’t like this look at all, especially the fabric of the dress.
I believe the Fug Girls said that this must have been made from a sofa from the ’80s. To that I will add: this is made from a sofa from the ’80s that could be WIPED CLEAN WITH A SPONGE!
Wamsutta, you have been warned! Valentino is coming for you. May the best bedspread win.
