Angelina Jolie Wore forte_forte To The ‘Couture’ San Sebastián Film Festival Premiere

Angelina Jolie attended the Couture premiere during the San Sebastián International Film Festival on Sunday, and let’s be honest—her press tour wardrobe has been on one very familiar track: black dresses, always black dresses.

Now, I usually don’t complain because Angelina in black is like a cinematic genre in itself. But even by her standards, this felt pared back to the extreme. Her forte_forte Fall 2025 velvet slip dress wasn’t trying to do much more than exist. Minimalist, yes. Elegant in that effortless Jolie way, sure. But memorable? That’s where I hesitate.

It wasn’t the 2018 BAFTAs, when she had us all floored in that strapless Ralph & Russo Couture gown with dazzling jewels. That was drama, that was presence. This? This was minimalist and… that’s it.

Of course, Angelina doesn’t need embellishment or theatrics to own a red carpet. But when the look fades from memory before the premiere photos are even archived, you can’t help but crave a little more from a woman who has delivered so many breathtaking moments in the past, but I feel that those days are long behind us.
