Penélope Cruz Doubles Down on Glamour in Miss Sohee and Chanel
Penélope Cruz is back in Spain promoting her new films, The Invite and La Bola Negra, during the San Sebastián International Film Festival this weekend, serving up two very different sides of her red carpet style.
The Invite Premiere
The actress wore a beautiful Miss Sohee Spring 2026 Couture mini dress, richly embroidered with silver floral detailing that came alive under the red carpet lights. I’m enjoying seeing Penélope in something that feels both playful and celebratory, while still delivering the glamour we expect from her.
She didn’t need the cape. I don’t think we’re ready for that leap just yet, and with so much detail already packed into the dress, it would have been overwhelming for the occasion.
But the shoes are so wrong for this. The platform and bow detailing don’t work with an already intricate dress when a much lighter sandal would have been my preference. I’m picturing a Jimmy Choo Minny or Stuart Weitzman Nudist here. The dress deserved a shoe that almost disappeared.
La Bola Negra Premiere
The glamour intensified for the second premiere as Penélope glided down the red carpet in a Chanel Resort 2027 gown that might look familiar, although perhaps not at first glance.
Mariacarla Boscono wore the newspaper-print version of this gown during the Venice Film Festival. Beyond the change in fabric, the design is the same, from the signature camellia embellished with feathers at the bodice to the sculpted folds that amplify the volume of the skirt.
I fell for this dress even more after seeing it in motion in a video from Vanitatis.

The photographs simply don’t capture how beautifully that voluminous skirt moves on the red carpet.
