Laura Dern & Andra Day At ‘Is This Thing On?’ UK Gala Screening

Following the London Film Festival premiere back in October, Laura Dern and Andra Day returned to the capital for the UK gala screening of their new film, Is This Thing On?. I’m not sure why it needed two billings, but maybe the film really is that good. Either way, we’ll never say no to another red carpet moment.

From Stella McCartney to Elie Saab

Laura Dern opted for a more experimental Stella McCartney look for the previous outing, this Elie Saab Pre Fall 2025 tweed check look is much prefered. There is a stately glamour to it, from the fabric to the silhouette, and I am grateful that this commentary will not see me complaining about the length of the skirt, because it could not be more perfect. Despite the short sleeves, it has a seasonal appropriateness to it, and the Jessica McCormack pearls only added to that stately glamour I mentioned earlier. As you know, I often struggle with Laura’s style, but I really enjoyed this outing, peekaboo bra and all.

From Sequins to Wool

Andra Day’s last outing in London gave us a dazzling Ashish red dress, but on this occasion she went for practicality and comfort over sequins. And honestly, I don’t really blame her. It is cold and wet in London, and to her credit, this Hanifa Shay wool coat is actually really chic. Teyana Taylor has made outerwear her focal point this week too. However, Andra kind of loses me with the heavy black boots. Had she chosen a brown shoe or boot, I would have excused the breaks in her trousers.
