Elle Fanning In Valentino Couture – ‘Isle of Dogs’ Berlinale International Film Festival Premiere & Opening Ceremony

Nothing makes me more excited than a European Film Festival, so was delighted to see Elle Fanning take center stage alongside Tilda Swinton and Greta Gerwig for the 68th Berlinale International Film Festival opening ceremony and ‘Isle of Dogs’ premiere in Berlin, Germany this evening (February 15).

Cannes was a succession of pretty princess gowns for Elle, so I love how she took things up a notch with this Valentino Spring 2018 Couture gown.

I’m captivated by how colour blocking really helps embolden the gown, yet there’s still a sweet serenity surrounding this artful look.

I don’t think by any means this is an easy look to pull off, but when you’re a 19-year-old red carpet veteran, it’s light work.

Could this be a coming of age look as Elle moves out of her teens in 2018?

Elle Fanning In Miu Miu – ‘I Think We’re Alone Now’ Sundance Film Festival Premiere After Party

Following the Sundance Film Festival premiere of ‘I Think We’re Alone Now’ on Sunday (January 21) in Park City, Utah, Elle Fanning headed to the after party.

We’ve seen a few Elle looks at Sundance, but this Miu Miu Spring 2018 frock—styled with a black turtleneck—was by far her most dramatic between the hyper-embellished purple sequins and her smoky plum eye makeup.

Her favoured Christian Louboutin ‘Une Bott’ boots made another showing here, and they fit right in to the winterized quirk of this look.

Even with the glitz, this had a distinctly effortless, cool-girl vibe.

Elle Fanning Loves…Christian Louboutin ‘Une Bott’ Boots

While a camel coat trend has taken hold during this year’s Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, Elle Fanning has taken the opportunity to show her affection for Christian Louboutin ‘Une Bott’ boots whilst there.

And, who could blame her, as the ribbed and quilted, lug-sole footwear is a willing (and practical) accomplice to snowy streets and any wintry mix—or wardrobe.

While the metallic-bronze boots offered some sturdy grounding to the starlet’s long powder-blue coat at ‘The Alienist’ screening, my favourite sighting of them followed when she was at The Hollywood Reporter’s Sundance Studio.

There, the chic edge of the black booties offered the perfect cool-girl finish to the equally edgy leather moto jacket and high-waist velvet trousers.

Elle Fanning In Miu Miu – ‘I Think We’re Alone Now’ Sundance Film Festival Premiere

Elle Fanning attended the ‘I Think We’re Alone Now’ Sundance Film Festival premiere on Sunday (January 21) in Park City, Utah.

The young actress’s Miu Miu Spring 2018 ensemble showcased the brand’s quirky charm.

I was surprised she didn’t style the sweater vest with a longer shirt given the snowy conditions of Sundance, but I do love the way the stripes of the blouse play off the larger chevrons.

She opted for a more streamlined finish with a black belt and pumps as opposed to the brighter accessories on the runway.

This was cute, retro, fun and in keeping with Elle’s M.O.

Elle Fanning In The Row – ‘The Alienist’ Sundance Film Festival Screening

Joining her sister, Dakota Fanning, Elle Fanning was also at ‘The Alienist’ Sundance Film Festival screening on Friday (January 19) in Park City, Utah.

I’m sure many won’t be surprised to learn she was wearing The Row, given the long, roomy silhouette of the look that’s so characteristic of the label.

On the one hand, I was wishing for slightly more shape and definition to the long macramé fringed dress and equally long overcoat.

On the other, I was more glad for the enchanting, powder-blue hue of that coat that took top billing and radiated beautifully against her complexion.

The cowboy boots may also raise an eyebrow, but they were undoubtedly chosen on behalf of the Park City location.

Best Dressed Teen of the Year – Elle Fanning

Kiernan Shipka long dominated the Best Dressed Teen category, winning the honour for three years in a row.

But, 19-year-old Elle Fanning has swooped in to take up the torch now, just in the nick of time in her last year as a teenager.

And, the status is quite well-deserved.

Elle not only has a directional, forward-thinking sense of style, she also possesses a sweet-chic aesthetic that adds girly romance and ethereality to moderate her edgier, quirky looks.

She can effortlessly debut a Temperley London sky-blue, prairie-girl frock just as easily as a Naeem Khan gunmetal gown, and a floral, fairy-tale confection by Christian Dior Couture—a personal favourite of mine.

Talk about the right kind of balance for a teen trendsetter.
