Elle Fanning Wore August Barron On Live with Kelly and Mark
Elle Fanning made a guest appearance on Live with Kelly and Mark this morning, where the actress was promoting her new TV show, Margo’s Got Money Troubles.
We didn’t love her Alberta Ferretti look worn for her SiriusXM interview, feeling it was too big and too matronly on her.
Well, on this occasion, she went in the complete opposite direction, stepping out in this decidedly whimsical look from August Barron’s Fall 2026 collection.
In truth, it’s a push-and-pull between playful and chaotic. The yellow and light-blue polo shirt brings an unexpected, almost preppy contrast, while the layered tulle skirt, stacked with oversized ribbons and crafted from repurposed archive pieces, leans fully into August Barron’s signature approach where garments are reworked into something imaginative.
The designer’s Fall 2026 Bedtime Story collection celebrates letting go, skirts tumble like confetti, tops drape and bow, and vintage elements are suspended to evoke fleeting moments of youth. Drawing on fairy-tale imagery, prom aesthetics, and the subversion of masculine codes, the collection reinterprets femininity through exaggerated proportions and layered textures.
But the question is: are you buying this look?
Personally, I have style whiplash as yesterday and today couldn’t be further apart.
As someone who enjoys the more playful side of Elle’s style, and appreciates August Barron’s work, I can see the appeal, especially on a bright spring day.
I know many of you will take one look at the skirt and bows and feel it veers too far into twee territory, but I have to admit that I adore this.
The Cartier Les Berlingots de Cartier ring, which she also wore the day before, along with Jimmy Choo Skye satin mules in a pale-blue hue to echo the bow both in the skirt, and another bow added to her updo.
