2020 Costume Designers Guild Awards Red Carpet Roundup

Mindy Kaling 2020 Costume Designers Guild Awards

The 2020 Costume Designers Guild Awards, which was held at The Beverly Hilton Hotel on Tuesday (January 28) in California, had many more attendees celebrating fashion.

Mindy Kaling:  At this annual event the actress always shows love to Salvador Perez, who is the Film and TV Costume Designer on the ‘Mindy Project.’

Usually bright colour is their M.O., but on this rare occasion they opted for a beautiful midnight blue velvet gown accented with 2,000 Swarovski crystals and an electric cape, which dazzled me more than the crystals.

Constance Wu in Redemption 2020 Costume Designers Guild Awards

Constance Wu:  Finally,  a Constance Wu look I can really get behind.  I know some of you aren’t fans of these half and half dresses, but in this Redemption Fall 2019 black coat dress with gold sequined body, I’m getting a well-styled and presented look which doesn’t feel like she’s trying too hard.  Those Christian Louboutin ‘Naked Bow’ shoes really helped sell this look to me. Anita Ko jewels completed her look.

Adam Scott 2020 Costume Designers Guild Awards

Adam Scott:   Isaia is fast becoming one of the go-to brands for menswear, and judging by the colours, textures and cut of this finely crafted Italian suit, you don’t need to figure out why.  Jimmy Choo Stefan oxford shoes, a timepiece from IWC and Montblanc cufflinks completed Adams look.

Nathalie Emmanuel in David Koma 2020 Costume Designers Guild Awards

Nathalie Emmanuel:  The ‘Game of Thrones’ actress needed this win wearing David Koma’s cloque and mesh dress from the Fall 2019 collection, following her disappointing SAG Awards outing.  This gorgeous LBD featuring a beautiful butterfly embroidery, is the sleek modern red carpet look I expect from her. Jimmy Choo ‘Shiloh’ sandals and a Jimmy Choo ‘Cloud’ clutch, plus matching earrings completed her look.

Catherine O'Hara 2020 Costume Designers Guild Awards

Catherine O’Hara:  This may look like a standard pin stripe suit, but since it was created by Christian Siriano, there is of course a slight twist, as the stripes are metallic creating a dazzling effect.

Djimon Hounsou 2020 Costume Designers Guild Awards

Djimon Hounsou:  I often find black and white suits tricky to pull off.  But the trims on the blazer, especially the shawl collar, and the sleek fabrication sells this look to me.
