Penelope Cruz In Chanel Haute Couture – 2018 Emmy Awards

Penelope Cruz In Chanel Haute Couture - 2018 Emmy Awards

Penelope Cruz attended the 2018 Emmy Awards on Monday (September 17) in LA.

As the actress broke her black-lace rut yesterday with a glorious teal gown, I was eager to see if she’d continue that form tonight.

And, she did. Sort of.

She was back to the Chanel label, but this Spring 2017 Haute Couture feathery frock was definitely a different direction that what we’ve seen recently.

The whimsical quality was undeniable, with her ponytail also lightening the mood and Atelier Swarovski by Penelope Cruz jewels added for good measure.

Do you like the modifications made to the bodice to more closely fit Penelope’s style?

Allison Janney In Prabal Gurung – 2018 Emmy Awards

There would be no missing Allison Janney at the 2018 Emmy Awards on Monday (September 17) in LA.

She channeled high-octane shine in this ultraviolet Prabal Gurung Fall 2018 sequin gown.

I love how the statuesque star fully committed to the bold look with her matching Tyler Ellis clutch and Stuart Weitzman sandals.

The turquoise earrings offered another punctuation mark to this twist on goddess glamour.

Sandra Oh In Ralph & Russo Couture – 2018 Emmy Awards

Sandra Oh was also in attendance at the 2018 Emmy Awards on Monday (September 17) in LA.

She showed off a sultrier side in this hot-red Ralph & Russo Fall 2018 Couture plunge gown, which was quite va-va-voom by Sandra’s standards.

While custom Gina shoes were a perfect colour match, I’m glad they aren’t showing here, as their clunky platform design was more stocky than sexy.

On the other hand, the sparkling Neil Lane jewels were quite alluring.

Taraji P. Henson In Giambattista Valli – 2018 Emmy Awards

Taraji P. Henson In Giambattista Valli - 2018 Emmy Awards

Taraji P. Henson swept onto the red carpet of the 2018 Emmy Awards on Monday (September 17) in LA.

The actress isn’t afraid to push the boundaries a bit, but usually it’s in the direction of traditionally sexy looks.

So, I’m sure I wasn’t the only one a bit surprised at this Giambattista Valli Fall 2018 exaggerated high-low creation that was quite whimsically girlish in form with its teeny florals and baby-doll silhouette.

That said, I’m trying to imagine the dress with another hairstyle, as this one felt a bit contrived — and even a bit ageing — with the look. Or, maybe it’s just one too many ruffles and curls combined.

What say you?

Rachel Brosnahan In Oscar de la Renta - 2018 Emmy Awards

Rachel Brosnahan was ravishing in red at the 2018 Emmy Awards on Monday (September 17) at the Microsoft Theater.

The Outstanding Lead Actress In A Comedy Series winner’s Oscar de la Renta Spring 2019 gown and Tiffany & Co. jewels were fit for a momentous occasion.

The asymmetrical neckline brought a twist to the timeless style and perfectly framed her décolletage and face.

Simplifying the skirt allowed the focus to remain on her.

Kristen Bell In Solace London – 2018 Emmy Awards

Kristen Bell In Solace London - 2018 Emmy Awards

Kristen Bell made a case for minimalism at the 2018 Emmy Awards on Monday (September 17) at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California.

She embraced clean lines with a Solace London Fall 2018 gown and Giuseppe Zanotti shoes.

With such a refined look, every detail must be perfect and I applaud her for going for it, especially in a pristine white dress.

Some might say that it’s a severe style for the actress, but I loved seeing this supremely chic side of her.

Do you agree?

Emilia Clarke In Christian Dior Haute Couture – 2018 Emmy Awards

Emilia Clarke In Christian Dior Haute Couture - 2018 Emmy Awards

While some stars offered up the last vestiges of light and bright summer shades, Emilia Clarke was among the others who fully walked on the dark side for the 2018 Emmy Awards on Monday (September 17) in LA.

You could say the ‘Game of Thrones’ starlet slayed this look — a Christian Dior Fall 2018 Haute Couture dropped-waist design with added allure in the sheer lace bodice.

The floral embroidery throughout the gown took on a mysterious romanticism for a certain enchanted garden effect.

Christian Louboutin heels completed the look.
