‘To Kill A Mocking Bird’ Opening Night

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon feature Spike Lee In Gucci - 'To Kill A Mocking Bird' Opening Night

A host of stars including Spike Lee, Iman, Anne Hathaway and Jessica Chastain attends opening night of ‘To Kill A Mocking Bird’ at the Shubert Theatre on Thursday (December 13) in New York City.

Spike Lee: The director showed his love for his beloved Yankees, wearing a Gucci Fall 2018 coat featuring the iconic ‘NY’ insignia, which is the golden logo for streetwear obsessives, but in Gucci, it becomes a high-end item in this houndstooth coat. Some might say he took the love too far with the matching Gucci loafters, but I’m more worried about the leather sweatpants, warm as they may be.

Tonya Lewis: Spike’s film producer wife did arrive in a coat, but removed it for us to see just how chic her LBD was.

Menswear End Of The Week Red Carpet Roundup

Here is the final roundup for the fellas who have been showcasing a range of styles from LA, Melbourne to Paris this week.

Cole Sprouse: This double-breasted suit would’ve come off as pretty standard had it not been for the injection of blood-red via his turtleneck.

Troye Sivan: The peformer attended the NGV Gala 2018 in Melbourne wearing an ivory and black trimmed Valentino look especially designed for him by Creative Director Pierpaolo Piccioli. I love the reinterpreted blazer, which instantly feels modern with the cape detail. This is a shoe-in for BDOTW.

Stephan James: Kiki Layne may be getting all the plaudits for her style, but that should also be attributed to Stephan too. I mean, does they guy even own a black or navy suit? Once again he embraced colour, and print, in a way that was ensured that he would stand out for all the right reasons in Grayscale. David Yurman accessories completed his look.

Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

A trio of menfolk have been making waves recently, as their looks can attest.

Chadwick Boseman: At The Hollywood Reporter’s Power 100 Women In Entertainment event on Wednesday (December 5) in LA, Chadwick would not be left on the sidelines in this Calvin Klein ensemble. It was a power look in and of itself with its mishmash of plaid and patterning. It’s never a dull moment with Chadwick, and he proves that men can mix and match prints just as well as women with this quirky look.

Robert Pattinson: Dapper is the only way to describe Rob at the 17th Marrakech International Film Festival opening ceremony on Friday (November 30) in Morocco. His Dior Men midnight-navy and black tux was handsome, dark, and moody — kind of like him.

John Legend: Also going mad for plaid, the singer suited up in a Valentino design that had me falling in love with the pattern all over again as, somehow, it doesn’t overwhelm here. Naturally, he was dressed to impress at his namesake John Legend: A Legendary Christmas powered by Pandora x Express event on Wednesday (December 5) in New York City.

Here is a final roundup of the gentlemen who took to the red carpet this week.

Bradley Cooper: Patricia Clarkson and Lady Gaga were on hand to see the actor honoured at the American Cinematheque Awards. Bradley continued to show plenty of love for Gucci wearing a dual-coloured navy and black tux styled with Christian Louboutin ‘Greggo’ shoes.

Ben Whishaw: The British actor joined his ‘Mary Poppins Returns’ co-stars Emily Blunt and Emily Mortimer on the red carpet for the LA premiere last night. His Alexander McQueen Spring 2019 suit featured a bold graffiti print of photography by John Deakin to ensure this wasn’t a forgettable outing.

John Krasinski: Joining this wife Emily Blunt at the ‘Mary Poppins Returns’ premiere, the actor suited up in bordeaux Prada suit featuring an eye-catching printed shirt which allows us to view this classic suit through a modern lens.

Front Row @ Dior Men Pre-Fall 2019

Dior Men’s Pre Fall 2019 Collection was showcased in Tokyo, Japan today (November 30) with a host of celebrities including Kim Jones’ BFF Kate Moss.

David Beckham: The former soccer star was decked in a Dior Men Pre-Fall 2019 suit which appeared a size too big for him. Factor in the lace up printed sneakers, and this is a rare no from me.

Bella Hadid: The model brought touch of Harajuku flavour to the front row in her Dior Men total look which included a Spring 2019 turtleneck jumper and Dior high top B23 sneakers featuring a Dior Sorayama canvas print.

Ezra Miller: Dressed in Dior Men Spring 2019, the actor was looking like a very trend science teacher. I love the flower motif jacquard gauze transparent coat.

Michael B. Jordan In Loewe – ‘Creed II’ Johannesburg Premiere

Michael B Jordan was welcomed into Mzansi (South Africa) by a frenzy of fans, who turned up in their numbers for the ‘Creed 2’ premiere in Johannesburg on Saturday (November 24).

The actor was looking his usual suave self as he rocked up to the red carpet wearing a Loewe green mohair and wool suit with a cotton t-shirt.

I love the way the stripes gave this look a sporty feel – which was right on theme with the film.

He could’ve comfortably worn sneakers with this suit, but I love the polish his Loewe oxford shoes gives this look.
