Mckenna Grace Serves Up Two More Looks Promoting ‘The Hunger Games’

Mckenna Grace continued promoting The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping in New York City yesterday with two more looks: something old and something new, but nothing blue.

Bows, Bugs and Betsey

It’s safe to say you weren’t particularly fond of Mckenna’s last archival Betsey Johnson outing, but she was back in the archives, this time wearing a Betsey Johnson Spring 2011 dress that reminds me of something a modern-day Alice in Wonderland might wear.

Interestingly, Mckenna removed four of the black bows from the original runway design, but even with fewer bows, I’m still not sold on this dress, as the gathered fabric creates an awkward, bunched-up silhouette. She styled the dress with Wolford knee-highs, Aldo open-toe sandals, an Aldo bag and Otra Raci sunglasses.

Having ditched the hair bows this time, Mckenna introduced ladybugs into her look, with even her adorable dog Gizmo joining in wearing a ladybug-patterned knit. A Nicole Rose Jewelry Diamond Hummingbird Pendant completed her look.

Mckenna and her stylist are building a nature-inspired theme through the accessories, while also choosing dresses that directly reference the film. The butterfly jewellery from her previous appearance supports that theory, while the hummingbird pendant feels like a nod to the mockingjay, one of the most recognisable symbols of The Hunger Games.

More Is More

For her second outing, Mckenna Grace switched to a La Fuori floral-embellished mesh cocktail dress, which feels like a flower garden has been scattered across a sheer lattice canvas.

There’s already plenty happening with this dress, but one thing I’ve noticed about Mckenna’s recent styling is that she doesn’t believe a busy outfit calls for fewer accessories. If anything, the more elaborate the dress, the more she seems inclined to add.

Once again, she piled on the Pandora jewellery, this time adding Linda Farrow cat-eye sunglasses and matching pink Aquazzura Tell Me sandals.

I prefer this look of the two. The colours are beautiful on her, and the pink sandals are a lovely choice.
