Olivia Colman Embraces 1920s Elegance in Zimmermann

Elsinore opened the 2026 BFI London Film Festival at the Royal Festival Hall this evening, and on a rain-soaked night in the capital, Olivia Colman was among the cast taking to the red carpet.

When you think of Zimmermann, ruffles and pieces made for sunnier climes often spring to mind, but the Valiant Deco maxi dress draws on 1920s elegance, feeling both feminine and architectural.

And it feels so apt for someone as sophisticated as Olivia. I wouldn’t necessarily have guessed Zimmermann for her, but this feels completely at home in her red carpet repertoire.

With her hair swept into an elegant updo and diamond earrings providing the finishing touch, there was very little needed in the way of styling.
