Only Rihanna Could Make Tinsel Look This Good

Rihanna celebrated the first day of Paris Fashion Week with a front-row appearance at the Matières Fécales Spring 2027 show.

For the occasion, the singer wore a shimmering gold tinsel-knit Matières Fécales Couture two-piece.

Gold tinsel, exaggerated shoulders and enough shimmer to decorate a Christmas tree? Rihanna said yes to all of it. And somehow, instead of looking festive, she looks fabulous.

That’s the magic here. Matières Fécales Couture gave her a look that could easily wear the person, but when Rihanna is in this kind of fashion mood, she’s never interested in playing it safe. She meets every ounce of its excess and then adds those sunglasses like this is perfectly normal Monday night dressing in Paris.

The look was styled with a black Ferragamo Cara bag from Maximilian Davis’ Fall 2026 collection, which is quickly proving to be the celebrity go-to from the season. Against all that gold, the bag and black pumps might seem like the safe option, but adding another metallic or embellished element would have been one statement too many. The black gives the eye a break from the high-shine texture while connecting neatly with her sunglasses.
