Chanel’s Leading Ladies Take Over TIFF

We’ve already seen what Ayo Edebiri has delivered at the Toronto International Film Festival, but she isn’t the only Chanel ambassador in town. Lily-Rose Depp, Penélope Cruz and Margaret Qualley have also been representing the house across premieres, dinners and the TIFF Tribute Awards.

This mini tweed Chanel dress couldn’t be more Lily-Rose Depp coded. The fitted silhouette, contrast trim and prominent double-C logo all sit firmly within her usual Chanel vocabulary, but the red earrings give the black-and-white look the pop of colour it needed. It’s familiar territory for Lily-Rose, and it always works so well.

This pale-yellow Chanel Fall 2026 dress does feel like a step outside Lily-Rose’s comfort zone, both in terms of style and colour. That quintessentially French-girl quality we’ve long associated with her Chanel wardrobe isn’t as apparent in Matthieu Blazy’s designs, which is allowing us to see another side of her style.

And I have to say, I really love this look for her. The long sleeves, dropped waist and fluid skirt feel completely different from the silhouettes she usually gravitates towards, and the pale yellow is beautiful on her. Chanel white shoes and Chanel High Jewelry, including those dazzling star earrings, completed her look.

TIFF Tribute Awards

After blowing us away in Venice with her red Chanel look, Penélope Cruz was back in black while receiving the Special Tribute Award.

I know it can sometimes come across as though I dislike all-black dresses, but this is one I truly love. The simplicity is exactly what makes it work. The clean, floor-length silhouette is sophisticated, and the scooped neckline frames her Garatti diamond necklace beautifully. Between the sleek bob, red manicure and jewellery, every styling choice complements.

Margaret Qualley also returned to black Chanel for the Love of Your Life premiere, but this feels entirely in keeping with her style. The asymmetric hem gives the dress more personality than a straightforward black slip, while the double-C detail at the shoulder immediately identifies it as Chanel.

I also appreciate the decision to keep the styling simple with black sandals. Margaret and Chanel continue to make sense together.
