Charlize Theron Wore Celine To ‘The Odyssey’ Seoul Premiere
Every time I open the internet, Charlize Theron is serving another standout look on the Asian leg of The Odyssey press tour, and I have absolutely no complaints. Her latest appearance came at the Seoul premiere held at Yeongdeungpo Times Square on Tuesday.
About 99.9% of you weren’t on board with her previous Tom Ford look. The comments on my Facebook group ranged from “Female Dexter” and “Serial Killer Chic by Aileen Wuornos” to one reader who described her recent run of looks as “the curtain, the table and now the raincoat.” I’m assuming that was a reference to the Louis Vuitton, Givenchy and Tom Ford looks.
Here it was called “a dumb, dumb look,” while another said, “The gloves and skirt turn this into a fancy butcher trying to avoid getting blood on her clothes.”
All hilarious observations, but I have a feeling this latest look would unite everyone in admiration.
It’s fitting that the final look of the press tour should also be my favourite. Yes, I know I say that often, but Charlize kept giving me reasons to change my mind with every stop on this Asian leg.
While I’ve enjoyed the more experimental direction of her Asian tour wardrobe, this Celine look feels like the natural meeting point between the house’s refined aesthetic and Charlize’s own red-carpet style.
The sleek satin separates, open back, dramatic shoulder train and clean lines all play to the minimalist glamour that has defined some of her best red carpet moments over the years. It has presence and attitude, while the Celine Triomphe oval sunglasses only add to the effortless confidence of the look.

Charlize’s footwear choices are usually among the best on the red carpet, which made the Celine white lace-up booties all the more surprising. I don’t mind the contrast against the dark satin, but the style itself felt at odds with the sleekness of everything happening above the ankle. For me, they were the only note that didn’t quite land.
Even so, this is the Charlize Theron I’ve been waiting to see throughout this press tour.
