Sadie Sink Wore Prada To The ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ LA Premiere
The world still doesn’t know who Sadie Sink is playing in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, as the actress kept her character firmly under wraps while walking the red carpet at the LA premiere on Monday.
Having long been part of the Prada/Miu Miu family, I was disappointed by this silvery embellished backless Prada gown. And my disappointment has nothing to do with what Zendaya was doing on the same red carpet. I’m judging this entirely on its own merits, and my immediate reaction was that it amounts to a whole lot of very little.
The colour does little for her, although thankfully it doesn’t wash her out. The fabric feels so flat that it leaves the gown looking almost lifeless, while the linear embellishments do their best to introduce some definition and visual interest. Unfortunately, they never quite manage to elevate what is otherwise an anonymous design.
The open back is easily the strongest element of the dress, adding a touch of drama. Thankfully, Sadie herself brings plenty to the look. Her softly waved copper hair, fresh makeup and natural poise are almost enough to distract completely from the dress.
I’ll only remember this look from the neck up.
