Jennifer Lopez’s Dolce & Gabbana Looks Captured The Spirit Of An Italian Summer

Jennifer Lopez wasn’t just in Taormina to see the runway show and perform at the Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda closing party. Before taking to the stage, she fully embraced the spirit of a Sicilian summer with a series of Dolce & Gabbana looks that felt like a love letter to Italian holiday dressing.

I love how Jennifer leaned into the fantasy that has always been central to Dolce & Gabbana’s world: sun-drenched days, glamorous afternoons and the effortless elegance associated with Italy’s golden-age jet set.

Sicilian Summer Dreams

My favourite of the trio was this Dolce & Gabbana floral shorts and cropped shirt set.

Styled with the matching headscarf, Dolce & Gabbana Hinge cat-eye sunglasses and layers of Dolce & Gabbana jewellery, Jennifer looked as though she had stepped straight out of a 1960s Italian holiday postcard. It immediately brought to mind the glamorous images of Sophia Loren and the carefree elegance of the Riviera, where a printed co-ord, silk scarf and oversized sunglasses were considered everyday attire.

The beige peep-toe mules and Delvaux Le Brillant Mini bag allowed the vibrant print to shine.

The Print That Defines Summer

Dolce & Gabbana’s Majolica print has become one of the house’s most recognisable signatures, instantly evoking long Mediterranean summers, colourful ceramics and coastal escapes.

Jennifer embraced it in a gorgeous bustier-and-leggings set, styled with gold flip-flops and a Dolce & Gabbana Mini Marlene Day bag. As dressy as it may appear, I love how the relaxed styling kept it feeling appropriate for wandering through Taormina rather than heading to a formal event.

From Beach To Piazza

I suspect this Dolce & Gabbana mini dress was originally intended as a stylish cover-up to throw over swimwear, but Jennifer transformed it into a complete daytime look.

Styled with a matching white lace headscarf, polka-dot pumps and the Mini Marlene Day bag, it once again tapped into that vision of 1960s Italian summers. There was an ease to the styling that felt authentic, as though she’d wandered from the beach to a café in the piazza before an evening of Alta Moda celebrations with fellow attendees, singer Stevie Mackey and Norwegian footballer Erling Haaland.

Taken together, these three looks captured exactly what Dolce & Gabbana does best. They celebrated the romance, colour and enduring allure of an Italian summer. The only styling choice I would have changed was the polka-dot pumps in the final look.

Stylists: Rob Zangardi and Mariel Haenn.
