Zendaya Wears A $35 Spider-Man T-Shirt For Paris Fan Event

Zendaya attended the Spider-Man: Brand New Day photocall and fan event held at UGC Ciné Cité Bercy in Paris on Wednesday.

At first glance, I know exactly what many of you are thinking: an oversized vintage Spider-Man T-shirt sourced by Law Roach from eBay for $34.99, paired with those ever-present white Christian Louboutin So Kate pumps, feels surprisingly low effort for a major photocall.

Law even shared the story behind the T-shirt on Instagram, writing, “Style doesn’t always have to cost a fortune.”

And honestly, I might have agreed with the criticism had it not been for two very important factors.

First, Paris, along with much of Europe, is experiencing a serious heatwave. The kind of weather where simply getting dressed feels like a chore. Under those conditions, an oversized cotton T-shirt suddenly starts to make a great deal of sense. It feels practical and comfortable.

Second, this was a fan event. While Zendaya has built a stylish reputation, this may actually be the most approachable look she has worn during the entire franchise. There is something appealing about the star of a major blockbuster wearing a vintage T-shirt that costs less than many concert souvenirs.

The graphic itself still ties directly into the film, so the connection to Spider-Man: Brand New Day remains intact, just without the high-glam interpretation we have come to expect from her.

My only sticking point is the footwear. The white Christian Louboutin pumps once again prove that they do not work with everything. Against the oversized black T-shirt, they feel disconnected from the rest of the look. Red pumps, ankle boots, flats, or even sneakers would have felt more cohesive.

Sometimes the simplest outfit is the right one for the occasion. I am just not convinced the white pumps got the memo.
