Bella Hadid Wore Schiaparelli To ‘La Bataille De Gaulle: L’Âge De Fer’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere
Bella Hadid attended the La Bataille De Gaulle: L’Âge De Fer premiere during Cannes Film Festival this evening wearing a look inspired by one of Jane Birkin’s most iconic fashion moments.

The model’s white crochet Schiaparelli by Daniel Roseberry gown referenced the plunging dress Jane wore to the Union of the Artists Gala in Paris back in 1969, right down to the dramatic black embellishment placed at the centre cut-out. While Jane’s original had a freer, more bohemian spirit, Bella’s interpretation sharpened the silhouette considerably.

Despite the delicacy of the crochet fabric, Bella’s version was sculpted around a nude bodysuit which enhanced the hourglass shape and gave the look a more defined, body-conscious finish. The result felt less carefree than the original, but entirely in keeping with Bella’s modern approach to vintage dressing.
What makes the comparison so fascinating is how both women brought the same dress language into completely different eras. Jane embodied late-1960s Parisian bohemia, while Bella transformed the look into something sleeker, sexier, and unmistakably Cannes-ready.
Chopard jewels completed her look.
