Simone Ashley Wore Jil Sander To ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ London Photocall

Simone Ashley attended the London photocall of The Devil Wears Prada 2 held at the V&A South Kensington today.

The weather was stunning in London, so I’m glad to see the British actress in colours that feel right for the moment.

London has seen Simone continue to dig into the archives, and she pulled from one of my favourite collections – Raf Simons’ Jil Sander Spring 2011, often referred to as his haute minimalism era.

As excited as I am to see the colour, the collection, and a fresh new silhouette from Simone, I’m disappointed by the fit.

The dress is clearly too long on her frame, even for someone with legs as long as hers.

Shortening the dress would have lifted the proportions and removed the bunching around the waist, which currently interrupts the line of the look. This would have been my favourite of the tour so far from her if the fit had been refined. Small margins make a big difference.

I know this look has been worn before, but I can’t remember who. I remember that Tilda Swinton and Kate Bosworth both wore looks from this collection, but I can’t remember who wore Simone’s dress. Does anyone else remember?
