Keke Palmer Wore Dior by John Galliano To The SXSW Featured Session

The Featured Session: Baby, This Is Keke Palmer Live event during the SXSW Film Festival in Austin, Texas, saw the actress step out in another archival look.

This time, her Dior Fall 2001 ensemble, featuring a vest, python trousers, leather hat and the iconic Champion belt, closely mirrored the original John Galliano runway look, unlike her premiere appearance, which felt more loosely referenced. Here, the intention was clear: a near one-to-one recreation.

On one hand, you have to admire the commitment required to pull this together. These pieces are not coming directly from the fashion house, and it’s highly unlikely a full runway look like this exists in one place. Her team would have had to source each element separately, which makes the result all the more impressive.

At the same time, while SXSW has leaned into more elevated dressing this year, this look taps back into the more relaxed style the festival is known for, although, the makeup lets it down.

If you’re a Britney Spears fan, you will recognise this look, as she famously wore a version of it for her 2000 Cosmo Girl magazine shoot, adding another layer of nostalgia to the moment.
