I was delighted to see Vittoria Ceretti front and centre, delivering one of the strongest looks of the night in a custom Alaïa column dress by Pieter Mulier. The fluid cotton-jersey base is masterfully elevated by intricate glasswork created by a stained-glass artisan, giving the look a striking, forward-thinking finish. A ruby vintage Repossi ear cuff and a diamond DYNE Elixia ear cuff completed her look.
Tailored Minimalism
Could the skirt of Bella Hadid’s Prada look have been tad shorter? Yes. Yet I’m still intrigued by how the house reworked its signature silhouette and favourite fabric into something sleeker and more modern. Some might say it leans very Calvin Klein, and I wouldn’t argue. Chopard jewels completed her look.
Conner Ives Strikes Again
The first images I saw of Emily Ratajkowski were from the back, which was open. From that angle, the gown felt promising, but the front tells a different story. This Conner Ives burgundy velvet gown places all the attention on the hip construction, and unfortunately, that is where it unravels. The draping feels awkward. A simple, clean line would have been much more effective. But overall, the fabric is just too heavy for her.
Something New
It’s refreshing to see Hailey Bieber step away from her usual Saint Laurent black dress formula in favour of Armani Privé. However, some might say that this leans far more classic than we are used to seeing from her, and I would agree. The silhouette is elegant, and I will say she does look good, but I would love this on Catherine Zeta-Jones.
A Welcome Shift For A Familiar Pairing
Kaia Gerber and Givenchy have been committed to black lace for a while, so I’m glad to see Sarah Burton pivot with this strapless red velvet bustier dress. It’s sleek and a strong change of pace. Styled with the label’s Sliced Bow sandals and De Beers jewels, this is one of her more memorable outings, as red has always been a great colour for her.
Drama Meets Expectation
Kylie Jenner’s custom McQueen gown delivers exactly what you would expect from both parties. There is theatrical impact from the house, paired with her signature sultry approach to red carpet dressing. It works because neither side is diluted.
Breaking Your Back For Fashion
Amelia Gray was in back-breaking form, showcasing the cut-out detailing of her REVOLVE Los Angeles Raye gown. It’s bold, body-focused, and entirely in line with her red carpet identity.
