Chase Infiniti Wore Schiaparelli To The 2026 ESSENCE Black Women in Hollywood Awards
Chase Infiniti was honoured at the 2026 ESSENCE Black Women in Hollywood Awards held in Los Angeles yesterday, marking another milestone in what has been a remarkable rise for the young actress.

If you’re anything like me, your reaction to this Schiaparelli Spring 2026 knit dress with its sculptural satin flounce was an immediate no.
I adore Chase’s style and the confidence she usually brings to the red carpet, but this look simply is not working for me. The asymmetrical knit silhouette, punctuated by that sweeping satin ruffle across the shoulder and hip, feels like a design that requires a taller frame and a more mature presence to fully command it. On Chase, the proportions feel slightly overwhelming, creating the impression that the dress is wearing her rather than the other way around.
There is also the question of context. When I attended this event a few years ago, it was a luncheon, and if that remains the case, this choice becomes even more baffling. The heavy black palette and sculptural drama read far more evening red carpet than midday celebration.
I also find the colour working against her. Chase tends to shine in lighter tones that play up her youthful energy, whereas this deep black feels a little draining against her complexion.
Messika jewellery completed the look, but even those refined finishing touches could not quite shift the overall impact. For someone whose recent run of appearances has been so strong, this feels like a rare misstep.
Stylists: Wayman Bannerman and Micah McDonald.
