Alexander Skarsgård Wore Saint Laurent To The ‘Pillion’ New York Screening
To say that Alexander Skarsgård had fun with fashion in 2025 would be an understatement, as his press tour for the film Pillion saw him expressing himself on the red carpet like never before. Yes, it was slightly perplexing at first, but once it became clear that those choices were rooted in the film rather than a personal detour, it turned into one of the more engaging style arcs to follow last year.

2026 hasn’t continued that same playful, BDSM-tinged direction. Aside from the flip flops at Sundance, the tailoring has largely returned to his pre-2025 baseline. That said, Monday night’s New York screening marked a notable shift, with the actor opting for a Saint Laurent Spring 2026 look that felt noticeably more relaxed than his usual red-carpet uniform.
And once again, brown continues its winning streak this week. David Banda first reignited my love for brown paired with orange, Matt Bomer followed with terracotta and cinnamon, and now Alexander is serving a rich mix of copper, orange, and deep brown.
What makes this look particularly compelling is the ease of the tailoring. Alexander is typically associated with sharper lines on the red carpet, but this outing leans softer, allowing the colour story to do the heavy lifting. The fluidity of the coat and trousers gives the look an ultra-modern feel.
Most importantly, I’m glad the exaggerated shoulder pads seen on the runway were left behind. Removing that overt 80s note informs us that the extremes might just be in the rear-view mirror for now.
