Renate Reinsve Wore Givenchy To The 2026 Palm Springs International Film Awards

Renate Reinsve arrived at the Palm Springs International Film Awards as one of the recipients of the International Star Award, shared with her Sentimental Value co-stars Elle Fanning, Stellan Skarsgård, and Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas.

And with that appearance came our first sheer dress of the year—something I didn’t expect from the actress I’m watching most closely this season.

Renate stepped onto the carpet wearing a Givenchy by Sarah Burton Spring 2026 drop-waist net dress. On paper, it sounds like a dream. The silhouette is elegant, the construction thoughtful, and the airy white palette reads light and modern. There’s no denying that the dress itself is beautiful.

But I wish it had been lined.

And that’s not coming from someone who’s anti–sheer dressing. Far from it. Her style credentials are already strong—intelligent, assured, and confident, never feeling desperate for validation. For someone with that level of fashion instinct, this feels like a shortcut she simply doesn’t need to take.

Lined, this dress would have shifted entirely. It would have retained the delicacy of the netting while allowing the shape and craftsmanship to do the talking. As it stands, the transparency distracts from what could have been a memorable statement.

She completed the look with Givenchy’s Boudoir Bow ivory leather sandals and Repossi Antifer two-row ring and bracelet.
