Celebrities at the 2025 Gotham Film Awards
Here is a roundup from Monday night’s 2025 Gotham Film Awards held in New York City.

Soft-Focus Glamour
Elle Fanning gave us another serene, elegant moment in a white Ralph Lauren Collection gown. The draped plunge neckline sat beautifully on her, but I’m not convinced the Cartier necklace adds anything. The gown already delivers the calm, luminous effect she wears so well — it didn’t need an extra layer of sparkle.

Boxy Good, Or Boxy Bad?
Chloë Sevigny will do Chloë Sevigny, so we shouldn’t be surprised by this Saint Laurent Boxy mini from the Fall 2025 collection. The silhouette is intentionally abrupt, and intentionally her. I’m thrilled she kept the oversized crystal-studded pyramid necklace because it injects a hint of glamour — the dress would’ve read brutally plain without it. The Saint Laurent Vendôme slingbacks completed her look.

Fashion-Girl Instincts
Eva Victor, who’s gaining serious awards-season buzz for Sorry, Baby, continues to make Loewe her red carpet signature. Here she wore a sculpted leather look from the Spring 2026 collection, and while it feels slightly offbeat for the Gothams, it makes total sense for her. It’s clever, and sharp— all things that play well into her emerging fashion identity. And those Loewe Origami pumps? Could they be replacing the Toy pumps as Loewe’s It shoe?

Quiet Shimmer
Felicity Jones, presenting on the night, chose an Armani Privé Fall 2025 black velvet gown trimmed with crystal fringes. It’s undeniably beautiful, but I do wish it were on someone taller — the proportions don’t quite land at full potential. Still, the mood is refined, and the Fred Leighton jewels were the right finishing touch.

Stripped-Back
Indya Moore kept things minimal in a Saint Laurent sheer dress styled with Saint Laurent Knocker earrings. A shearling coat and Saint Laurent Régine pumps sealed the deal. It’s cool, unfussy, and exactly the sort of left-of-centre minimalism Indya wears best.

Taupe Perfection
Jayme Lawson looked ever-so elegant in her taupe satin Prada gown. She’s had a strong start and an equally strong finish to the year — consistently refined, consistently considered, and consistently one to watch on any carpet.

Tailored Confidence
Julia Roberts posed with Luca Guadagnino (in Giorgio Armani) wearing a Tom Ford by Haider Ackermann polka-dot jacquard suit. This is so her lane — playful, sharp tailoring, a sense of unseriousness, and a dash of mischief. Pasquale Bruni jewels completed the look.

A Return To Form?
Cue a collective sigh of relief. After an underwhelming press tour for Song Sung Blue, Kate Hudson returned to something closer to form in a Ralph Lauren Collection satin gown. I would loved the halter to have sat higher, a smoother fit, and fewer creases — but this is leagues better than the earlier outings, so I’ll take the win.

Ethereal Ease
Naomi Watts glided across the carpet in a custom Calvin Klein Collection mint pleated jersey gown. The softness, the fluidity, the colour — it all sits beautifully on her. Understated but quietly striking, and one of the evening’s loveliest looks.
