Tessa Thompson Wore Burç Akyol To The 2025 SCAD Savannah Film Festival

Tessa Thompson attended the 2025 SCAD Savannah Film Festival on Thursday, where she received the Performance Award for her role in Hedda.

Last week you didn’t share my enthusiasm for her Simone Rocha look, but you may feel that she’s back in her element wearing a look from the Burç Akyol Spring 2026 collection.

Personally, I couldn’t be happier to see her return to this brand of eclectic, and architectural elegance.

The look is a visual conversation in contrasts: a crimson knit top twisted and tied, anchored by a navy satin column skirt. But it’s that gold satin ruffle at the hip that transforms the whole silhouette — unexpected, playful, and brimming with personality.

Colour-blocking is nothing new for Tessa, but Burç Akyol’s approach gives it a sculptural rhythm that feels utterly fresh. The trio of red, gold, and navy shouldn’t harmonise this well, but somehow, it feels as natural as her ease on the red carpet.

I admit I had my doubts about this new chapter in Tessa’s fashion journey — would she lose that creative edge that made her so exciting to watch? Thankfully, this look confirms she hasn’t. She continues to evolve while staying unapologetically herself — clever, confident, and a always unpredictable. I’m obsessed with this look.
