Amal Clooney accompanied her husband George Clooney for the New York Film Festival premiere of his latest film, Jay Kelly, held at Alice Tully Hall on Monday.
We were disappointed by her high-low outing during Venice Film Festival, but it seems her commitment to shorter hemlines has not wavered.
This Oscar de la Renta mini dress from the Fall 2025 collection is certainly impactful: the burgundy velvet bodice is rich and refined, while the three-dimensional floral skirt has a couture-like theatricality that instantly makes it a memorable red carpet moment. Amal wears it with her trademark poise and confidence, which helps anchor such a bold design.
The colour is stunning on her—we don’t often see Amal in deeper jewel tones as she tends to gravitate toward bright, fresh colours year-round—but this richer shade feels perfect for fall and lends her a different kind of glamour.
That said, I do prefer Amal in the longer, sleeker gowns that elongate her statuesque frame.
A matching Oscar de la Renta burgundy velvet Bow clutch and gold Gianvito Rossi Plexi pumps rounded out her look.
