Rihanna Wore Saint Laurent To The ‘Smurfs’ LA Premiere
Rihanna brought her signature swagger to the LA premiere of Paramount Pictures’ Smurfs on Sunday.

While her Smurfette-hued Chanel look for the Berlin premiere may not have won you over, I have a feeling you’ll be more aligned with this darker, edgier look from Saint Laurent’s Fall 2025 collection.
Blending gothic glamour with a nod to ‘90s streetwear, Rihanna’s look was a love letter to her grunge sensibilities. A sultry silk charmeuse ball gown—complete with delicate lace accents and an oversized bow—was toughened up with a black leather bomber jacket slung casually over her shoulders. The outfit didn’t exactly say “summer movie premiere,” but it absolutely screamed Rihanna, and honestly, what more do we want?

And if Rachel Brosnahan’s Superman press tour taught us anything, it’s that summer blockbuster style might be going through a moodier, darker reinvention. Gone are the lemon sorbets and soft lilacs. In their place? Black leather and subversive silhouettes.

But back to the red carpet in LA, where Rihanna faced some stiff competition—in the form of her own children. While A$AP Rocky was his usual cool self, it was their sons Riot Rose and RZA Athelston Mayers who truly stole the show. Dressed head-to-toe in Dior Men’s Spring 2026 by Jonathan Anderson, the boys had fashion world in a chokehold.
If I’d had to place a bet on who’d debut the collection, I’d have guessed Josh O’Connor. The charismatic, boyish energy of the runway seemed tailor-made for him. But seeing those playful silhouettes miniaturised on Riot and RZA? Game over. They’ve officially earned their fashion icon status before even hitting double digits. Riot in particular, in the runway’s opening look has me ready to give him BDOTW honours.
