Rachel Brosnahan’s Sleek Ponytail Moment at the ‘Superman’ Premiere
Celebrity stylist Owen Gould worked his magic on Rachel Brosnahan for the Superman premiere, crafting a sleek, high-shine ponytail that perfectly complemented the open-back detail of her Ralph Lauren gown. The goal? A look that felt sexy, sophisticated, and moved effortlessly on the red carpet without feeling overly structured.
“The open back of Rachel’s dress instantly sparked the idea of a clean, modern ponytail,” Owen shared. “We wanted something that had fluidity, polish, and a bit of understated drama.”
To prep the hair, Owen started with Living Proof’s Perfect Hair Day Shampoo and Conditioner to ensure a smooth and healthy foundation. On damp hair, he applied Leave-In Conditioner Spray to lock in hydration, followed by Full Texturizing Foam, worked through from roots to ends to create body and build hold.
To refine the texture, he added a small amount of No Frizz Smooth Styling Serum through the mid-lengths and ends before blow drying with a medium round brush to achieve a sleek finish with volume at the roots. Once dry, he brushed Rachel’s hair back and secured the ponytail at the mid-point of her head—elevated but still elegant.
For light hold and texture, he misted Style Lab Flex Hairspray throughout the ponytail. And to add that signature, red carpet-worthy shine, he finished with a few drops of No Frizz Vanishing Oil, focusing again on the mid-lengths and ends to keep the style glossy but weightless.
The result was a timeless, modern ponytail that balanced sophistication with sensuality, letting the dress take centre stage while still delivering an impactful beauty moment.
