The Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project 2025 Block Party took over Universal Studios Backlot on Saturday, bringing good vibes, great causes, and a dose of Hollywood glamour to North Hollywood.

When you hear “block party,” you imagine breezy sundresses, barbecue smoke in the air, and the kind of sunshine that makes you question every decision involving sleeves. So Charlize Theron opting for a leather bomber jacket in 84-degree heat? That one’s got me scratching my head while fanning myself with anything not nailed down.

That said, the rest of the look was exactly what you’d hope from Charlize at an event like this. The Dior Spring 2025 black asymmetric dress was effortlessly cool and event-appropriate. Roped sandals kept things grounded (literally and stylistically), and I appreciated her skipping the blazer fallback.

Still, the bomber felt like one layer too many. Sometimes less really is more—especially in California heat.
