It’s always a joy to see Leighton Meester back on the red carpet. I launched this website right around the time Gossip Girl started, so seeing her out and about always triggers a wave of nostalgia—especially when I think about her 2009 Louis Vuitton look for the Met Gala, which still lives rent-free in my mind.

Fast forward to 2025, and Leighton’s style has evolved into something much softer and more romantic, and her look for The Buccaneers Season 2 photocall in New York captured that beautifully.

Wearing a Giambattista Valli Spring 2025 white mini dress with a rosette-trimmed neckline and a silk chiffon floral fringe hem, Leighton gave us a dreamy mix of elegance and whimsy. The dress has that perfect summer-ready feel, but what really won me over was the movement—it was giving garden in bloom or underwater ethereal realness, depending on your interpretation. The floral fringe swayed like petals in the breeze or coral tendrils floating under the sea. Either way, the effect was captivating.
