Apart from one hiccup in Prada, Alba Rohrwacher has had a strong fashion showing throughout the 2025 Cannes Film Festival. And for her final act at the closing ceremony, she delivered a look that felt like a love letter to Dior’s golden era—with a modern surprise thrown in.

Wearing Dior Haute Couture, Alba channelled the essence of the 1950s with a silhouette that could’ve stepped right out of Christian Dior’s original atelier. The cinched waist and voluminous skirt captured that iconic “New Look” that changed fashion forever, while Maria Grazia Chiuri’s contemporary updates ensured this was couture reimagined.

The structured elegance of the design was perfectly in sync with Alba’s refined red carpet aesthetic, but what really thrilled me? The open back. That subtle reveal gave the gown a modern sensuality that brought it firmly into 2025 without compromising the vintage romance.
