Milena Smit has once again declared her allegiance to her favourite colour on the red carpet—black—and frankly, no one does it quite like her.

For the Highest 2 Lowest premiere during Cannes Film Festival, the Spanish actress delivered a moody moment in a sculptural gown from the Balenciaga Fall 2023 Haute Couture collection.

We know Milena doesn’t just wear black; she commits to it with attitude and intent. This look had that architectural edge we’ve come to expect from her, perfectly balancing elegance and “don’t mess with me” energy. If I had to get picky, the hem was longer than ideal—on the model, the silhouette is sharper thanks to that perfectly cropped finish. And the heavy fabric made it even more noticeable.

But honestly? That feels like a minor gripe in the face of such strong styling. With simple black pumps and her signature nonchalant energy, Milena didn’t need bells or whistles to stand out. Just her usual cool-girl command of the carpet.
