Yseult Wore Givenchy Haute Couture To The ‘Nouvelle Vague’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere
Yseult made her annual Cannes Film Festival appearance as a L’Oréal ambassador for the Nouvelle Vague premiere on Saturday evening.

Her red carpet history here has included some real triumphs—her Dior Haute Couture look from last year is still sitting pretty at the top of my Cannes all-time favourites list. So, naturally, expectations were high.
Which is why this custom Givenchy Haute Couture look, designed by Sarah Burton, feels like such a letdown.
Let’s start with the obvious: the creases. On a couture gown? It almost feels sacrilegious. But even if you overlook the fabric issues, the look itself just isn’t saying anything. There’s no narrative, no energy—just a lot of black and white with very little impact.
The tailored black cape, leather gloves, and crystal choker and cuffs did try to inject some drama, and I’ll admit the accessories were doing a lot of heavy lifting. But despite their best efforts, this ensemble remains forgettable.
Yseult is a red carpet powerhouse, someone who usually commands attention and delivers fashion moments worth talking about. Which makes this all the more frustrating.
It feels undercooked, underwhelming, and ultimately unworthy of someone with her presence and style potential. She deserved so much better.
Stylist: Jonathan Huguet.
