Janelle Monae In Wolk Morais – ‘Welcome To Marwen’ LA Premiere

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon feature Janelle Monae In Wolk Morais - ‘Welcome To Marwen’ LA Premiere

Janelle Monáe struck a pose at the ‘Welcome To Marwen’ LA premiere on Monday (December 10). She attended the event alongside Leslie MannGwendoline Christie and Diane Kruger.

This graphic Wolk Morais Fall 2018 outfit plays into her aesthetic perfectly.

She has taken the runway version and made it look like the pieces were made for her with the addition of the hat, patent ankle boots and sharp shirt and tie.

The patterned clutch even plays off the design on the separates.

Janelle Monae In Gareth Pugh – Billboard Women In Music 2018

Janelle Monae In Gareth Pugh - Billboard Women In Music 2018

There was more suiting at the 2018 Billboard Women In Music on Thursday (December 6) in New York City, where Janelle Monae took on this Gareth Pugh Spring 2019 look.

My issue with this jumpsuit is two-fold.

1. It doesn’t appear to fit, and it totally overwhelms her petite frame.

2. The trousered part reminds me of the Y/Project jeans we saw on Solange Knowles, Hailey Baldwin and Gigi Hadid, that were all the rage earlier this year.

I see where Janelle was going with this look, but unfortunately I’m not able to accompany her on this journey.

Janelle Monae In Blazé Milano – Smithsonian Magazine’s 2018 American Ingenuity Awards

Janelle Monae was at Smithsonian Magazine’s 2018 American Ingenuity Awards in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday (December 5).

She celebrated her signature black-and-white palette with this Blaze Milano Fall 2018 tuxedo dress.

But, as is customary, she completely made the look her own by adding the decorative white dress shirt and two-tone lace-up shoes.

As is also to be expected, she brought even more personality via the singular bauble earring and sassy pearl-encrusted beret that also had unicorn and peace-sign pins for meaningful, modern panache.

It just really made this little mini all the more special, and she worked it like no other.

Front Row @ Chanel Pre-Fall 2019

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon feature the Front Row @ Chanel Pre-Fall 2019

The Chanel Pre-Fall 2019 fashion show took place at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on Wednesday (December 5). The front row was a sight to behold with a range of breathtaking looks.

Margot Robbie: After wearing the designer to the ‘Mary Queen of Scots’ New York premiere, the Australian beauty donned a voluminous Chanel Spring 2019 dress. With its trapeze silhouette and frills it had a light-as-air feel, but the black helped ground the look and give it a more formal finish.

Penelope Cruz: The Spanish actress might not have had the easiest time sitting in this Chanel Pre-Fall 2017 gown but the feather-adorned style made a statement. She removed the delicate pink belt, but I’m curious to see how it would have looked with a darker style.

Janelle Monáe In Jean Paul Gaultier Haute Couture – 2018 Glamour Women of the Year Awards

Janelle Monáe In Jean Paul Gaultier Haute Couture - 2018 Glamour Women of the Year Awards

Janelle Monáe was honoured with The Visionary Award at the 2018 Glamour Women of the Year Awards on Monday (November 12) in New York City. She attended alongside Claire DanesAmber Heard and Lupita Nyong’o.

The singer-actress adhered to her signature monochromatic colour palette in Jean Paul Gaultier Fall 2018 Haute Couture.

It’s fascinating to see how the key pieces from the runway look remain but she has interpreted them in a way that’s purely her own.

The dress’s longer length could be a sticking point for some, although, it adds a more formal feel.

A good compromise would be a hair shorter to show the sock garter detail.
