An Evening with Miley Cyrus Presented by Spotify

Spotify rolled out the black carpet for An Evening with Miley Cyrus in New York City, and while the occasion was all about her upcoming visual album Something Beautiful, there was no ignoring the fashion moment Miley brought with her.

She wore a Mugler Spring 2025 look that was giving all the power, all the drama, and all the vintage-cyber throwback energy we’d expect from the house. The hook-and-eye sculptural jacket? Instantly recognisable. Exaggerated shoulders, razor-sharp waist, high collar—it gave vintage Mugler energy with just the right dose of 2025 edge.

I loved the commitment to the full vibe: sheer tights, the studded platform Mugler Fang mules, and even those rockstar shades made sense in this curated chaos. She was deep in her glam-grit era… or so I thought.

Then came the hair. Soft, tousled, and frankly out of sync. It just didn’t play well with the rest of the outfit’s razor-sharp energy.

And while we all know Miley hair eras are practically their own genre at this point, this one isn’t syncing with her Mugler moodboard. Here’s hoping her visual album, dropping May 30 and drawing inspiration from The Wall, aligns better with her message of finding beauty in darkness—because the hair, in this case, was the only off note in an otherwise killer look.
