CinemaCon 2025 Day One Red Carpet Roundup
CinemaCon 2025 kicked off in Las Vegas on Tuesday, and while the focus may be on the films, the fashion was just as attention-grabbing. From nostalgic throwbacks to bold tailoring, here’s a rundown of the rest of the standout looks from day one.
One Battle After Another
Teyana Taylor is not one to do subtle, and her Schiaparelli military-inspired coat was the perfect choice for making a statement. The navy brushed wool coat featured the house’s signature Nipple bijoux buttons and gold Measuring Tape embroidery on the lapel—details that commanded attention. With a hero piece this strong, you keep the supporting cast simple. But, in true Teyana fashion, she added a bold touch with metallic blue Amina Muaddi Fiona boots.
Superman
You’ll instantly recognise Rachel Brosnahan’s newspaper dress by John Galliano from the early 2000s, featuring the iconic black-and-white “Gazette” print. And not just because Galliano is boldly splashed across the fabric, but because Sarah Jessica Parker cemented its status as a pop culture fashion moment in Sex and the City. Rachel’s mini black version felt characteristically playful, along with her styling. Patrizia Pepe boots completed her look.
Nicholas Hoult, who is stepping into the role of Lex Luthor, embraced a dual-personality aesthetic—polished from the waist down, rugged from the waist up. His Saint Laurent distressed leather bomber jacket gave a rebellious edge to his otherwise sleek ensemble, setting the tone for his take on the infamous villain.
The Bride
Maggie Gyllenhaal’s approach to red carpet dressing has always leaned toward the understated, and she stayed true to form in a Schiaparelli Fall 2024 suit. However, she did break from her usual routine by adding an unexpected detail—the ombré braided ponytail tie. This quirky addition instantly brought to mind Tilda Swinton, who first introduced this tie to the red carpet back in November. It’s a small but effective twist that keeps things interesting.
The Long Walk
David Jonsson, soon to be honored with the Next Generation Award at the Big Screen Achievement Awards, opted for a Gucci Pre-Fall 2025 ensemble that felt effortlessly modern.
