2025 Vanity Fair Oscar Party: Menswear Edition
And here we are at the final hurdle of the 2025 Vanity Fair Oscar Party, wrapping up with the men who attended the event. If you’ve made it this far, congratulations—you clearly have the endurance of an awards season veteran.
There’s something special about menswear at this particular event. Unlike the main Oscars red carpet, where many play it safe in classic tuxedos, Vanity Fair invites a bit more personality, and risk-taking. So let’s get into it.

Pink Panther no more
Before Haider Ackermann presented his debut collection for Tom Ford during Paris Fashion Week on Wednesday, Timothée Chalamet was giving us a preview on Sunday. As you know, I was hollering at Ackermann to get his boy straight in some of his luxe designs following his pink panther-inspired look at the Berlin Film Festival premiere for A Complete Unknown, and the designer did what he does best. This look was the perfect mix of elegance and style. I much prefer this over his yellow Givenchy look for the main event.

Micro-beaded glamour. A masterclass in red carpet dominance
Colman Domingo has been consistently consistent—much like previous awards seasons, and honestly, any time he steps onto a red carpet. He closed this season in a custom Dolce & Gabbana jacket matched to gloves, which instantly steal the spotlight. Not just for the micro-beaded details, but the silhouette of the jacket is breathtaking. The tonal look was beautifully contrasted by the wool trousers and silk shirt.

commitment to a colour story
When I saw that Aldis Hodge had gone tonal in his burnt orange satin suit from Gray, I first marveled at the crease-free fabric before zooming in on the shoes. As much as they appear to be black, I can confirm that they are actually burgundy—much to my delight.

When You make the watch the PRIORITY
Had Cooper Koch been less focused on showing off his timepiece, perhaps we would have gotten a better look at this Ferragamo Spring 2025 concrete deconstructed blazer incorporated with a vest, which is the hero piece of the look.

Rockstar: Tuxedo Edition
Damiano David, who usually brings an edgy flair to his looks, suited up in a Dolce & Gabbana Sicilia-fit tuxedo. But fear not—his Bvlgari High Jewelry Serpenti necklace and rings injected just the right amount of rock ‘n’ roll glamour.

Florals, embellishments, expressive—thank you for the effort
Some might find Danny Ramirez’s AMIRI Fall 2025 floral blazer, blue embellished stripe shirt, and tie too much considering the classic tailoring. But I love the flare. It suits his style personality, and I’m all for more expressive menswear looks, especially at an event like this where there are hundreds of outfits and I want something other than the expected to stand out.

Chocolate delight
Jay Ellis was looking as suave as ever in his custom Brunello Cucinelli dark chocolate velvet tuxedo jacket paired with Brunello Cucinelli sunglasses.

Classic, timeless—but never boring
When it comes to timeless and classic, James Marsden in Ralph Lauren will win every time. A David Yurman brooch and Cartier timepiece—perfectly showcased—completed his look.

Fashion-forward or just confusing?
I love that John Legend did something different in this Zegna look, although selecting a picture of him was challenging. Some angles made him appear shorter than he is, others made it look like he was wearing a maxi skirt with the poncho. But I feel this picture perfectly showcases that there are three pieces here: the poncho, the long coat, and the trousers, which are too long for him. On Instagram, the musician shared that his inspiration was Dune meets Conclave, so he nailed it.

Understated
Joseph Quinn elevates his Fendi ensemble with the striking Dries Criel Sphinx brooch, bringing a subtle yet sophisticated elegance to his red carpet look.

Velvet and Todd Snyder continue to fail this man
Joshua Jackson in velvet Todd Snyder. It just doesn’t work. And this isn’t the first time this trio has been a fail. Remember that blue suit he wore to the Doctor Odyssey premiere back in September? The same issues are here—fit and style. This ages him so badly. A sharper fit, and this would have been glorious.

One brooch? Child’s play. Two brooches? That’s how you make a statement
Lamorne Morris saw that everyone was wearing one brooch on the red carpet and opted to raise them one more by wearing two Toni + Chloë Goutal brooches with this Dolce & Gabbana Sicilia-fit tuxedo. Rings by EFFY Jewelry, Walters Faith, and Suzanne Kalan completed his look.

Sharp tailoring can make even black shoes with a white tuxedo work
Noah Schnapp wore a white Dolce & Gabbana double-breasted Sicilia-fit tuxedo from the Fall 2024 runway collection, and the black shoes aren’t offending me here. I think the sharp tailoring is distracting me.

Unexpected fashion collaboration That works
Questlove and Gabriela Hearst isn’t the fashion union I expected to be blowing me away in 2025, but here we are. The musician wore a custom black structured smoking coat accented with a statement purple and green floral brooch and Sydney Evan necklaces.

A masterclass in understated luxury
Regé-Jean Page wore a Brunello Cucinelli Fall 2025 tuxedo which was elegance personified.

Erm…
Sacha Baron Cohen in an off-white Berluti suit? Only from the waist up.
And with that, the Vanity Fair Oscar Party is officially closed. Thank you for your patience. I hope you’re not over it at this point.
