Philippine Leroy Beaulieu Wore Erdem To The ‘Queer’ Venice Film Festival Premiere

Philippine Leroy Beaulieu Wore Erdem To The 'Queer' Venice Film Festival Premiere

Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, the ever-chic French actress known for her role in ‘Emily in Paris’, graced the red carpet this evening for the ‘Queer’ premiere at the Venice Film Festival.

She wore a beautiful Erdem Fall 2024 floral embroidered dress with a sweetheart neckline, a look that was undeniably pretty and polished. However, as much as I appreciate the elegance of this dress, I find myself longing for that signature sex appeal she usually brings to the red carpet.

Do I like this dress? Yes, absolutely. The floral embroidery is intricate, and the sweetheart neckline adds a touch of classic femininity. Erdem is known for its romantic, vintage-inspired designs, and this piece is no exception.

Philippine has a knack for turning heads with her daring fashion choices—she often opts for bold silhouettes or striking, unexpected details that leave a lasting impression. This dress, while lovely, feels a little too safe compared to her usual red carpet outings. But let’s be clear: safe isn’t always a bad thing. This wasn’t her premiere, after all, and it’s understandable that she might have chosen something more subdued for the occasion.

Imagine this same Erdem dress, as a gown, but worn by Felicity Jones for her Venice Film Festival premiere for ‘The Brutalist’. Now that would have been a match made in fashion heaven. The understated romance of this dress would have perfectly complemented Felicity’s more demure style, adding just the right amount of glamour without overwhelming her natural elegance.

Or, perhaps, Philippine should have worn the runway cape.

Pomellato jewels completed her look.
