Celebrities at the Gabrielle Chanel. Fashion Manifesto Exhibition

The V&A is to stage the first UK exhibition dedicated to the work of French couturière, Gabrielle ‘Coco’ Chanel, charting the evolution of her iconic design style and the establishment of the House of CHANEL, from the opening of her first millinery boutique in Paris in 1910 to the showing of her final collection in 1971.

This exhibition will be presented in partnership with Palais Galliera, Fashion Museum of the City of Paris, Paris Musées with the support of Chanel.

On Tuesday (September 12) ambassadors and friends of the House attended a dinner at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London to celebrate the exhibition. 

I must start each Chanel dedicated post with Keira Knightley in attendance with the woman herself.

Aside from Coco Chanel, no one embodies the Chanel woman quite like our English rose.

You may look at this Chanel Fall 2023 Haute Couture jacket embroidered with feathered flowers with a long-flounced skirt and feel that it’s not the quintessential look we expect from Keira.

I’m here for something different to the fantasy tweeds and lace dresses which tend to be her go-to’s.  

Chanel High Jewellery completed her look.

Showcasing a new hairstyle, Naomi Campbell was oozing elegance wearing a Chanel Pre-Fall 2023 dress with Chanel accessories and High Jewellery.

You didn’t think we would have a Chanel event without one tweed moment, did you?

French actress Clémence Poesy doesn’t wear much colour these days as black is her go-to colour, so seeing her Chanel Fall 2023 iridescent tweed jacket embroidered with hand-painted white flowers and sequins felt like a break from what was starting to feel like a uniform.  

Ella Balinska, and those enviable legs, were back on the red carpet dressed in a Chanel Resort 2024 black, pink, and silver sequinned tweed jacket with matching shorts styled with Chanel accessories including Coco Crush Chanel Fine Jewellery.

Jenna Coleman had another sheer moment with this Chanel Pre-Fall 2023 ensemble styled with Chanel Fine Jewellery Ruban earrings.

I would’ve preferred Simone Ashley’s Chanel Fall 2023 look without the jacket, or a different style of jacket, as this one feels bulky.

There are not many people who could sell Chanel black leather trench coat embellished with chains from the Fall 2023 collection with white lace tights.

But Alexa Chung is that girl.
